Talking in Numbers

The production of ceramics in Turkey is mainly based on approximately 60 firms, 28 of which produce ceramic tiles and approximately 40 of which produce sanitarywares. With the common contribution of these firms' productions, Turkey is world's 9th and Europe's 3rd largest producer and world’s 4th biggest exporter in ceramic tiles. Turkey comes first inproduction and exportation of sanitary wares in Europe.

Recently, Turkey has reached 2,0 billion euro production capacity by sustaining a yearly growth rate of around 8 percent from the year of 2004 to 2008. On the other hand nearly half of the projected production capacity has been exported abroad, a number that is sealing Turkish Ceramics Industry's well deserved success. If we divide the shares of tiles and sanitarywares inexportation; 40% of the total production was exported for the former, and 45% for the latter.
