Roots in History

The history of Anatolia was written with earth for 8000 years. Here the earth found shape with different methods of treatment by numerous civilizations including Hittites,Romans, Byzantians, Seljuks and Ottomans. Techniques evolved, designs flourished and ceramics kept being acrucial aspect of everyday life with all its features suchas functionality and ornamental beauty. Last but not least,ceramics was always a source of inspiration since it could form any intended shape and so it helped men enlarge their imaginations.

Having taken its roots in such an ancient background,ceramics in Turkey looks very closely at its foundations in the past and the contributions of various civilizations on Anatolian ceramics which are now being evaluated into world-brands. To this aim, Turkish ceramics production got industrialized in 1950's and gained it space three decades after. Since then Turkey has increased its share in the world ceramics' market rapidly and is now a strong competitor with a considerable position of considerable standing in both production and exportation of various types of ceramics wares.
